Malteser Tiffin

Updated: Apr 26, 2020

Malteser Tiffin is one of my favourites, it is super easy to make and although it isn't very healthy, it makes a delicious mid-week snack!

Ingredients:

  • 100g Butter

  • 250g milk chocolate (good quality, if possible).

  • 6tbsp maple syrup.

  • 200g biscuit (I use digestive but as long as it is plain and easily crushable it is fine)

  • 200g (you guessed it) Maltesers.

Method:

1. Put the maple syrup, butter and chocolate into a microwave safe bowl and microwave it for thirty seconds at a time, stirring it afterwards to stop it from burning.

2. While step 1 is happening, either you or a helper put the biscuits in a plastic sandwich bag (I am yet to find a good alternative, sorry!) and hit it with a rolling pin-this was great for relieving stress during lockdown! Once the biscuits have been reduced to mere crumbs, add it to the mix. Do it slowly, because if you get too much in there at one time, mixing it up well will be a nightmare.

3. Once the biscuits have been mixed in, do the same with the Malteser's, but with the same amount of caution.

4. Line a brownie tin, or something similar, with grease-proof paper or spread the tin with butter and pour the mixture into the tin. Then place it in the fridge. then feel free to embrace your inner kid and lick the mixture bowl clean.

Notes:

Keep it in the fridge and cut it up once it has set. It lasts for about a week in the fridge although it is normally all gone by then! For those with dairy allergies, a dairy free chocolate should work and coconut oil or sunflower spread will work as a good alternative for the butter.

Please send your thoughts on the comments, and please like, share and subscribe, and we would love to see your pictures of the Malteaser Tiffin you made.
